How I Built This Site
Of course, you might wonder why I even have this page. Well, I generally put together one of these for every site I build. It’s an old habit that dates back to the days when all the web was gray and the horizontal rules were rainbow-colored.
I put together blogs for fun, so building this site was a pretty straightforward process.
As with most of my blogs, I used WordPress. I built my first WordPress site several years ago, so I’m very comfortable with the platform. I even wrote my own theme back when I was getting my feet wet. It was a great experience because it allowed me to learn this fantastic platform from the ground up. (please give me a reason to say platform one more time)
For this site, I wanted to try something different so I used DIY Themes’ Thesis. This was my first experience with Thesis. The administrative options, including the no-code design tools, provide an excellent foundation to get a sharp looking site up and running quickly. I’ve only started making code customizations, but I have to say I’m impressed with the elegant back-end design of this premium theme. I’d recommend Thesis for both the casual blogger and the advanced developer.
